Tennessee Organizing

We are building up the Prohibition Party in Tennessee, and you can help make it happen.

As the Prohibition Party works to move forward, we are looking into further developing state-level organization in the State of Tennessee. We are working to grow our membership, develop our state-level organization, look for opportunities to run candidates for office, and prepare for trying to get on the ballot in Tennessee for the 2028 presidential elections.

State and Local Candidates

In Tennessee, candidates can get on the ballot for U.S. Senate, House of Representatives, Governor, or State Legislature through the independent nominating petition process, with a minimum of 25 valid signatures. The process for petitioning to get on the ballot in 2026 will start in early January and has its deadline on March 10th. The petitioning period in future election years will likely be around the same time of year.

We are looking for members who are willing and able to put in the work to run as a candidate. If you are someone who is interested, you can email zack.kusnir@prohibitionparty.org

If you are interested in running as a Prohibition Party candidate for local office, check with local election officials to see what the local ballot access requirements would be for that office, and contact  prohibitionists@gmail.com

Preparations for 2028

We are working on preparations for trying to get on the Ballot in Tennessee in the 2028 presidential elections. To get on the ballot, we will need to gather at least 275 valid signatures and produce a slate of 11 electors. We will need one elector in each of the state’s nine congressional districts, plus two other electors from any part of the state. If you are interested in volunteering to be a signature gatherer or in serving as an elector, you can email prohibitionists@gmail.com

It's Time To Build A Better Future

We are living in a time where alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs inflict widespread illness, injury, and death, and impose vast social, medical, and economic damage on our society. Where the interests of public health and protecting lives are all too often neglected and the government officials who are supposed to serve and protect the public, instead serve those that enrich themselves off exploiting, and harming, and killing members of the public. Where politicians from the two major parties have all too often failed to meet the needs of the public, where the two major parties have shown they can't fix things, and many Americans have become discouraged.

To this, we say that there is hope in forging a different path; that the way things are currently is not how they have to be. Change can happen, but it will take people working to make it happen. It may not be easy, but it is worthwhile.

The Prohibition Party offers a positive alternative to the major parties. We recognize that people have the right to come together though the democratic process to establish laws protecting their lives, rights, and vital wellbeing from abuse. We believe in ethical public service, in good governance, in protecting public health, and strengthening communities. If you agree, then come join us and help build a better future for Tennessee.
